- Description
CANYON LANDS stacked in two rows of fat block letters, and every letter is filled with the country the park is named for. Mesas, spires, a river bend, a sky going orange.
Embroidered in orange, teal, cream and black with a merrowed border. Iron on or sew on.
Canyonlands splits into three districts that do not connect by road: Island in the Sky, the Needles, and the Maze. Most people who say they have been to Canyonlands have been to Island in the Sky, which is the closest to Moab and the easiest day.

What is a merrowed border?
It is the raised, slightly rope like edge stitched around the outside of a patch. It is done on a merrow machine, which wraps thread around the cut edge so the backing cannot fray and the patch keeps its outline through years of washing. On a shaped patch like this one it does real work, because every letter edge is a chance to unravel. If a patch has a flat, thin edge instead, it was laser cut and heat sealed, which is cheaper and does not last as well on something you actually wear.
