Carryall Tote

Light enough to forget you are carrying it, tough enough that you stop being careful with it. Tyvek inside and out, so it sheds water, resists tearing, and wipes clean. When wiping is not enough it goes in the washing machine on delicate and air dries.

Inside there is a sleeve sized for a laptop or a notebook, held shut with a gold magnetic button, a zip pocket for the things you do not want loose, and a key leash so you stop digging. Outside there is a second zip pocket for whatever you need without opening the bag.

What is Tyvek and why make a bag out of it?

Tyvek is a spun bonded polyethylene, the material used for house wrap and express mail envelopes. It weighs almost nothing, water runs off it rather than soaking in, and it is remarkably hard to tear even though it feels like paper. For a tote that means you carry the weight of nothing and still get something you can load up, leave in the rain, wipe out, and put through the wash.

What changed from the first version?

Two things, and we will tell you plainly. The first run of this tote used a snap button on the interior laptop sleeve that was stronger than the lining around it, and over time it could tear the Tyvek at that point. This version uses a gold magnetic closure instead, which holds a laptop securely without stressing the fabric. We also added an exterior zip pocket, which the first run did not have.
