What is lay flat sewn binding?

The pages are stitched together in sections and sewn into the spine rather than glued to it. That is why the notebook opens flat and stays where you put it, so you can write all the way across a spread without holding the page down or cracking the spine. Glued notebooks fight you, and they eventually shed pages. A sewn binding is the difference between a notebook you finish and one you abandon at page thirty.

Which Desert Sol notebook should I choose?

All six are two hundred lined pages with the same lay flat sewn binding, a ribbon marker, and a quote on the inside cover. What changes is the cover. The Floral Gesture Hardcover Notebook, this one, comes in five floral covers if you want a choice. The Canyon Rose Hardcover Notebook is a warm clay rose with a grain texture and the easiest one to give as a gift. The Desert Floral Hardcover Journal is cactus and yucca in tan and brown, for writing at length. Three carry the same prickly pear in different treatments: the Desert Intentions To Do Notebook has it in cream on soft sage with TO DO on the front, the Wild Bloom Leather Journal has it in fine white line work on dusty rose, and the Desert Plum Leather Journal has it embossed into deep plum with no printed color at all. Wild Bloom and Desert Plum have soft flexible vegan leather covers rather than hardcovers.
